Haha, you've been FURLOUGHED. Have a nice day!

Hi.

So, our government has closed down.

And over 1 million people have been furloughed.

So, who's at fault?

The Democrats, who "made a huge mistake first" by pushing Obamacare ahead instead of focusing on other government activities?

Or the Republicans, who are so stubborn as to prevent the Democrats just because they won the elections again?

So, we've compared the stats- but with Athens and Rome. From a long time ago.

Here we go.

(By the way, this was a school assignment. It's related, sooooo...)

Athenian democracy represented people much better than the Roman republic. The Roman government consisted of the Senate, who had 300 members. This Senate was elected by partisans and determined by their wealth and land. This makes it so that the common plebeians were not heard when the Senators were elected. They were represented, but didn't have much power compared to the Senate.

The Athenian democracy was a direct democracy, making it so that most everybody’s votes were heard. Although, if you looked at it from a different view, since the votes were decided by people shouting them out, some people could be not heard. Athenian democracy also put everyone on an equal pedestal.

Power plays were not present in Athens, but the form of government Rome had made it so power plays were very possible. (Like our government today. Stupid politicians.) (Fuuuuuuuuuuu.)

Aaaand, that's our answer.

Thanks, guys.
